FATN Talking News is a dedicated charity serving the visually impaired community across Surrey and Hampshire. Established in 1971, the organization provides essential audio recordings taken from local weekly newspapers that cover various regions including Waverley, Rushmoor, Hart, Surrey Heath, and East Hampshire. These recordings are made available to listeners completely free of charge, delivered on USB memory sticks, and compatible with memory stick audio players, which can also be provided at no cost.
In addition, FATN Talking News ensures accessibility by enabling listeners to enjoy their current news editions online via smart speakers, voice-activated assistants, and selected internet radio devices. The charity operates with the invaluable support of volunteers, relying on donations and fundraising efforts to sustain its vital services, as it does not receive public funding. With a commitment to fostering inclusivity, FATN Talking News is a beacon of support, helping those with visual impairments stay connected to their local news and community.
