FAVORITE GOLF

FAVORITE GOLF INSTITUTE (FGI) is a membership-based junior golf school and practice facility in Shiroi, Chiba, Japan. It provides coaching from tour professional coach Mitsuru Nakamura for young golfers aiming to become professional players or top amateurs. The grounds feature natural-grass practice areas with three greens and a bunker, as well as covered hitting bays. Much of the facility was built by the coach and junior golfers who train there.

Lessons are tailored to each player’s level and cover golf skills such as increasing distance, shaping shots, controlling spin, bunker play, and putting, alongside mental preparation and course management. FGI encourages juniors to think independently, learn through trying, and grow from mistakes; coaching is not designed as continuous one-to-one instruction. The institute describes its atmosphere as friendly and supportive, with opportunities for players and parents to share information. Junior membership is offered to eligible elementary-school students, including beginners, subject to current intake and capacity. FGI also welcomes inquiries about facility tours and trial lessons.
