The Fundación de Arte y Folclor del Atlántico (FAYFA) is a cultural organization dedicated to supporting the traditions and heritage of Barranquilla’s Carnival. Through Carnaval de la 84, it creates a public stage for the region’s folkloric expressions and helps keep them visible and valued. Its activities include carnival parades, performances, and events that bring together cumbia groups, traditional dance troupes, fantasy comparsas, and costumed participants.
FAYFA also promotes children’s involvement in Carnival through Salvaguarda y Niños en Carnaval, a program where young performers share ancestral traditions and learn about the cultural expressions of groups from Barranquilla and nearby towns. Its events have included Noche de Faroles y Tambores, celebrating cumbia and heritage dances, and the Martes de Carnaval parade on Calle 84. The organization also shares cultural news, videos, documentaries, press releases, and financial reports through its website.
By connecting performers, families, and audiences, FAYFA contributes to the safeguarding of Carnival traditions and honors the people who have helped sustain them
