About Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries
FCAI, based in Canberra ACT, is the foremost brand representing the Australian automotive industry. With a vision for the future, they aim to integrate mobility, communications, and energy technologies to enhance living standards in Australia. Their mission is to foster a collaborative environment where innovative technologies can improve the lives of Australians through mobility.
As the peak representative organization for companies distributing new passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles, motorcycles, and all-terrain vehicles in Australia, FCAI boasts an impressive lineup of 68 brands offering 380 models. These vehicles are sold and serviced by nearly 4000 dealers across the country. Despite the cessation of local vehicle production in 2017, FCAI's members remain committed to global new model development, with design and engineering facilities still active in Victoria.
The impact of the automotive sector cannot be underestimated. It encompasses vehicle importation and distribution, retailing, servicing, logistics/transport, and engineering. The sector also supports numerous supplier companies, providing employment opportunities for thousands of Australians.
FCAI's members, including new vehicle distributors and Australian new car dealers, alone employ over 75,000 individuals, many of whom have received training at esteemed institutions like TAFE.
