About Friends For Conservation And Development
Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) is a grassroots, non-profit organization based in central Belize, actively managing the Chiquibul Forest and adjacent areas since 2007. FCD's mission is to implement adaptive management strategies in the Chiquibul Forest to enhance ecological and cultural preservation in the western Chiquibul Maya Mountains. Their vision is to ensure sustainable management of terrestrial ecosystems for Belize and the wider region.
FCD's goal is to safeguard the diverse natural and cultural assets of the western Chiquibul Maya Mountains to support Belize's sustainable development. Working in collaboration with partners like the Forest Department and the Belize Defence Force, FCD is dedicated to protecting the integrity of the Chiquibul Forest and buffer zones.
