FCEI

FCEI, or Family-Centred Early Intervention for Children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, is an international community focused on improving outcomes for deaf and hard of hearing children and their families. It brings together families, people with lived experience, researchers, practitioners, and other professionals to share knowledge and strengthen practice. FCEI’s work encompasses principles and models of practice, as well as connections among parent and professional associations.

A central activity is the International FCEI-DHH Conference, held every two years. The 2026 conference in Bad Ischl, Austria, is the seventh gathering and explores ideas, innovations, and challenges shaping the future of the field. Its program includes keynote presentations, pre-conference workshops, research and practice sharing, and discussions on technology, family inclusion, ethics, and care. The conference also offers registration and scholarship information, translation and assistive technology, social events, and opportunities to build international networks. Through its congress program and ongoing information resources, FCEI supports dialogue and collaboration across disciplines and borders, with the aim of helping shape a brighter future for children and their communities.
