The Belgian Common Guarantee Fund (Fonds Commun de Garantie Belge, FCGB/BGWF) is an association established to carry out responsibilities assigned under Belgian legislation on compulsory motor third-party liability insurance and compensation for victims of major technological accidents. It serves as a motor insurance guarantee fund, a compensation body and an information centre under European Directive 2009/103/EC.
The Fund’s work includes handling compensation-related missions and identification requests, detecting cases involving uninsured vehicles, and addressing matters connected with bankruptcies and liquidations. It also provides information and support concerning road traffic accidents, including accident declarations and guidance on compensation for personal injury.
