About FCJE
The Federación de Comunidades Judías de España (FCJE) is the official organization representing the vast majority of Jewish communities and organizations in Spain. Established in 1992, the FCJE has a pioneering agreement with the State, granting it official representation of the Jewish communities to both national and international authorities. With a population of around 45,000, Spanish Jews have a strong presence in the country, maintaining educational institutions and specific schools for all educational levels in Madrid, Barcelona, and Melilla.
They have over 30 synagogues nationwide, including some able to accommodate up to 800 people. The FCJE is an active part of the European Jewish Congress (EJC) and the World Jewish Congress (WJC). The FCJE also runs the program Shalom TV, a weekly religious program aired on Sundays, and actively engages in current issues affecting the Jewish community in Spain, with regular communication about recent events and press releases.
