About Fonds de Développement Industriel
FDI is a specialized financial institution affiliated with the Banque Centrale d'Haïti (BRH). Established by decree on March 26, 1981, FDI operates with operational and financial autonomy. Our mission is to promote the country's industrial development by providing financing solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have the potential to create jobs, generate foreign currency, add value, and utilize local raw materials in an environmentally sustainable manner.
To fulfill our mission, we offer various alternative financing instruments such as participatory loans, venture capital, credit guarantees, and subordinated loans. These instruments are designed for SMEs that cannot access traditional bank loans due to their inability to meet the minimum requirements set by commercial banks' credit policies.
As a non-profit institution, our main objective is not to achieve a high return on investment. However, we believe that profitability is a constraint and a prerequisite for survival, preserving wealth in real terms, and fostering balanced growth.
Our vision is to become the largest non-bank financial institution in the country, in terms of both economic and social profitability, with the necessary financial, human, and technological resources to provide services that meet the ever-changing needs of both the industrial sector and the banking system.
FDI was created by decree on March 26, 1981, as a specialized institution of the BRH, with operational and financial autonomy. The institution is led by a Director General appointed by the Board of Directors of the BRH.
With Gourdes 7.7 billion in assets as of September 30, 2017, FDI is committed to promoting economic growth and financial stability for the benefit of Haiti.
