Feathered Horses Farm is a small farm nestled at the foot of Lone Jack Mountain, with views of the Palouse. Founded on bare ground in 2015, the farm has been built by its owners as part of an ongoing journey in sustainable living. Solar panels power the home, barns, and well, while ponds provide water for livestock and wildlife. Animals graze in green pastures, and visitors can contact the farm to arrange a visit.
The farm raises two rare heritage sheep breeds from Wales, valued for their potential use for wool, meat, and dairy. Its horses include Friesians and Gypsy Vanners, known for the feathered hair around their feet that inspired the farm’s name. Although the herd is being downsized, feathered horses remain available to visit. Feathered Horses Farm also keeps Karakachan dogs, a rare Bulgarian breed developed to guard sheep, and has a breeding pair with puppies planned for sale.
