Featherstone Pottery is a family-run pottery studio on a historic farm in rural Red Wing, Minnesota. Brothers Tom and Jeff Larkin have been making pottery there for more than four decades, drawing on traditional pottery practices and their experience in stoneware. Their work is shaped by a shared commitment to creating pieces that are both useful and beautiful, with distinctive forms, colors, and textures. Each item is handcrafted, so no two pieces are alike.
The studio specializes in functional stoneware fired in a wood-burning kiln at approximately 2,300 degrees Fahrenheit. Its range includes handmade pottery intended for everyday use, as well as pieces suited to collecting and gifting. Featherstone Pottery sells its work year-round at the farm and also takes part in pottery shows. Visitors are welcome by appointment or by chance, offering an opportunity to explore the studio and its craft. The pottery’s roots reflect both a long family connection to the farm and the brothers’ dedication to keeping traditional ceramic skills alive.
