Fechtteam

Fechtteam Hamburger Hochschulen e.V. is a long-established fencing club based in Hamburg, welcoming beginners, returning fencers and experienced athletes. Despite its name and location near the university, the club is open to everyone, not only students, and invites children, teenagers, adults and seniors to take part. Training focuses on foil and épée, with sessions led by knowledgeable instructors and opportunities for both recreational and competitive fencers. The club presents fencing as a dynamic sport that develops speed, reflexes, coordination and fitness.

Newcomers can try a free session without prior experience or their own equipment: the club provides the gear needed to get started. Regular training takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at venues in Eppendorf and the Schanzenviertel, with sessions for adults and, on Thursdays, young people aged 12 and over. Individual and small-group training can also be arranged by agreement. Both training locations are in central Hamburg and accessible by public transport. Visitors are encouraged to contact the club in advance before attending a trial session.
