Federparchi

Federparchi, also known as Europarc Italia, is the Italian federation representing organisations that manage the country’s natural protected areas. Founded in 1989 as the National Coordination of Regional Parks and Reserves, it adopted its current name in 1998. The association brings together more than 160 bodies, including managers of national and regional parks, marine protected areas, and regional and state nature reserves, as well as some provinces, regions, and environmental organisations. Its structure includes regional coordination groups.

Since 2008, Federparchi has served as the Italian section of the Europarc Federation, a European network of institutions and organisations responsible for protected areas. The federation supports collaboration and initiatives across areas such as biodiversity, environmental policy, sustainable tourism and mobility, agriculture and forestry, and marine conservation and fisheries. Its work includes projects, events, conferences, environmental education, international cooperation, and sharing information on regulations and protected-area management. Federparchi also publishes news, newsletters, photographs, and videos, and promotes tools such as the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in protected areas.
