About Feminist Dalit Organization
Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO) is a non-profit, apolitical, and secular non-governmental organization founded in Nepal in 1994. Their mission is to eliminate caste and gender-based discrimination, with a focus on empowering Dalit women and advocating for women's rights. FEDO operates in all seven provinces of Nepal, with a presence in 56 districts.
They have developed strong relationships with communities, stakeholders, and local development actors by working through district offices. The organization has more than 2100 grassroots level women's groups and frontline leaders as members. FEDO is affiliated with national and international networks and platforms of women and Dalits.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, FEDO has been providing humanitarian support to Dalit and marginalized populations, spreading awareness, organizing psychosocial counseling, and working with the Nepal government to address urgent needs.
