FeG Dortmund is a brand that aims to be a welcoming community for everyone, regardless of their generation, nationality, culture, or gender. As a community of believers in Jesus Christ, they strive to be a diverse and inclusive group, following the model of 1 Corinthians 12:12 - many members, one body. FeG Dortmund, part of the Bund Freier evangelischer Gemeinden in Deutschland, has a vision to be a beacon of light in Dortmund.
They constantly evaluate and adapt their approach to remain relevant to society. With a history dating back to 1912, FeG Dortmund started in a small house and now operates from Körner Hellweg 6, where they built a new community hall in 2001. FeG stands for FREI (free), meaning they are an independent Christian community with their own accredited training institution, funded solely by voluntary member donations.
They are also affiliated with the Bund Freier evangelischer Gemeinden, which oversees missions, pastoral training, and social welfare projects. As an EVANGELISCH (evangelical) community, FeG Dortmund embraces the Reformation and bases their beliefs on the gospel. They consider the Bible and the work of the Holy Spirit as essential guides for discerning God's will.
GEMEINDE (community) for FeG Dortmund is not just an organization but a living organism. They experience the presence of Jesus through worship services and other community events, finding encouragement, comfort, guidance, and correction. They are part of the global Christian community, collaborating with churches and organizations such as the worldwide Evangelical Alliance.
FeG Dortmund is a member of the FeG Deutschland, which provides support, training, administrative services, financial assistance, and theological education to its member communities. With a basis in the Bible, a shared belief in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and a commitment to being part of the global community, FeG Dortmund is structured as a self-governing congregation within the FeG Bund. FeG Dortmund offers various services and programs to support the work of their member communities in different areas.
They have bank accounts with Spar- und Kreditbank Witten and Sparkasse Dortmund for financial transactions. FeG Dortmund is a brand that embraces diversity, values independence, and seeks to be a shining light in the community, rooted in the gospel and supported by a strong network of churches and organizations
