About Feiras Novas
Feiras Novas is the organization and official information platform for Ponte de Lima’s traditional Feiras Novas celebrations, described as Portugal’s oldest Minho pilgrimage. The site shares the festival’s history, posters, messages from local leaders, and a programme of events, while helping visitors plan their stay with information on accommodation, camping, parking, restaurants, public toilets, and first-aid points. The 2026 celebrations are scheduled for 9–14 September and include events such as a livestock competition and a procession in honour of Nossa Senhora das Dores.
The Association of Feiras Novas invites residents to take part as procession participants or volunteers, reflecting the event’s community and devotional character. Visitors can also explore a poster archive, view photos, and use the Feiras Novas smartphone app for festival details and practical information. The official shop offers themed products, including T-shirts and straw hats, so attendees can dress for the festivities.
