About Felibrige
Founded in 1854, Le Félibrige is an academy and cultural movement dedicated to preserving and promoting the langue d’oc, the Occitan language, across the region between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Its work brings together reflection, cultural action, tradition, and modernity. The organization has a formal structure that includes Capouliés and Majoraux, and supports language learning through Félibrige schools.
Its activities celebrate Occitan heritage through major floral competitions, traditional festivals, and regional Maintenances in areas including Aquitaine, Auvergne, Provence, Limousin, and Languedoc-Roussillon. Le Félibrige also maintains a connection to Mistral and the Coupo, with resources on the cup’s dimensions and history and the texts of “La Coupo Santo” and “Estello. ” For readers and learners, it offers publications such as La Revisto and Laus, alongside a dictionary and conjugation tool.
The website also features a shop and current news, helping visitors explore the language, events, traditions, and cultural life associated with the Félibrige
