About FELICE H2020 Project
FELICE H2020 Project is aimed at addressing one of the greatest challenges in robotics: the coordinated interaction and combination of human and robot skills. With a focus on agile production, FELICE aims to design the next generation of assembly processes to meet the pressing needs in manufacturing. The project envisions adaptive workspaces and a cognitive robot collaborating with workers in assembly lines.
FELICE brings together multidisciplinary research in collaborative robotics, AI, computer vision, IoT, machine learning, data analytics, cyber-physical systems, process optimization, and ergonomics. The goal is to develop a modular platform that integrates autonomous and cognitive technologies, enhancing the agility and productivity of manual assembly production systems. Key objectives include implementing perception and cognition capabilities through heterogeneous sensors, advancing human-robot collaboration for safe and ergonomic operation, realizing a manufacturing digital twin for optimization, and orchestrating the assembly process in real-time.
The project also aims to showcase collaborative assembly lines for agile production in real industrial settings and maximize project impact by promoting it to various audiences. The framework comprises a local layer with collaborative assembly robots and adaptive workstations, and a global layer that operates through a digital replica of the physical assembly line. The project will be validated in real industrial environments.
Overall, FELICE H2020 Project aims to revolutionize the manufacturing industry by combining the accuracy and endurance of robots with the cognitive ability and flexibility of humans, leading to more adaptive and agile assembly processes
