Founded in 1993, FEPORT represents the interests of 2290 terminal operators and stevedoring companies performing cargo handling operations and logistics activities in the seaports of the European Union and Turkey. FEPORT membership consists of large and medium size private seaport companies and terminals as well as local and regional companies and national associations from the individual European Union Member States. The organization’s aim is to promote the interests of FEPORT’s members and to maintain continuous dialogue with all EU institutional and non-institutional stakeholders. FEPORT’S mission statement FEPORT speaks on behalf of its members, promotes their collective interest and presents their positions. FEPORT is committed to ensure inclusive dialogue and constructive exchange of views between its members and European policy-makers. FEPORT undertakes all initiatives that favour a better understanding of the priorities of the European private port operators’ sector by key stakeholders. About FEPORT
FEPORT, the Federation of European Private Port Companies and Terminals, represents the interests of 2,290 private seaport companies and operators across the European Union, Norway and Turkey. Its members carry out cargo handling and logistics-related activities in seaports, employ around 400,000 port workers and have invested more than €70 billion over the past decade to strengthen the attractiveness and competitiveness of European ports.
As an industry federation, FEPORT gives private port businesses a collective voice in European policy discussions. Its work covers port competitiveness, investment, climate action and sustainability, digitalisation and data sharing, customs, safety and security, employment, and connections to inland transport. Through committees, position papers, manifestos and policy engagement, it represents member perspectives and contributes to debates affecting ports and terminals.
FEPORT also shares industry news, press releases, newsletters, publications, videos and event information. Its activities include stakeholder conferences and initiatives such as the SAFEDIGIMAR project. The federation connects members and stakeholders with developments in European transport and port policy, supporting discussion of the challenges and opportunities facing the private port sector.
