Ferdinand Christkindlmarkt is an annual German-style Christmas market held in Ferdinand, Indiana, continuing a local tradition that began in 1998. Inspired by the centuries-old German Christkindlmarkt, or “Christ Child Market,” it brings festive Olde World holiday spirit to the town each November. The 2026 event takes place November 21–22, with opening ceremonies on November 20.
Visitors can explore more than 225 vendor booths across eight market sites, featuring handcrafted gifts, antiques, art, Christmas decorations, regional foods, wine, and craft beer. The weekend also includes live traditional entertainment, Glockenspiel performances, marionette theater, and a philharmonic concert. Families can enjoy a free kids’ zone with ice skating, inflatables, holiday activities, balloon twisting, and visits with Santa. Tours and special attractions highlight Ferdinand’s German heritage, including visits to local religious landmarks.
Admission, parking, shuttle transportation between market sites, performances, activities, and special events are free. The event welcomes visitors of all ages to enjoy shopping, regional culture, food, and seasonal entertainment in a community setting.
