La Ferme de Chatenay

La Ferme de Châtenay is an equestrian school and educational farm in Étrigny, Saône-et-Loire, in the heart of Burgundy. Its pony club welcomes children from age two, offering riding lessons and holiday stages designed around each child’s age and pace. The farm’s gentle ponies are specially trained for young riders, and its playful approach helps children enjoy riding while discovering animals and the natural environment.

Beyond its activities for families, La Ferme de Châtenay hosts schools, nurseries, leisure centres and groups supporting people with disabilities. It also offers animal-assisted mediation sessions. For horse owners, the farm provides pasture boarding for retired or convalescent horses, with supervision, care and feeding, herd life across several hectares of pasture, shelters and winter hay supplied freely. Horses and ponies of all ages are welcome. The team also offers starting and training for young horses. Led by sports educator Laurence Fournier, the farm combines child-centred equestrian activities with animal discovery and practical horse care near Tournus and Sennecey-le-Grand.
