Fern & First is a custom portrait brand creating illustrated keepsakes for babies and modern nurseries. Customers submit a well-lit photo, and each portrait is illustrated in the brand’s signature style, then printed, framed in solid wood, and shipped ready to hang. Before anything is printed, customers can review and approve a proof, helping ensure the finished piece is right for them.

The process has three steps: upload a photo, receive a custom illustration, and have the completed portrait delivered to your door. Fern & First describes its portraits as subtle, painterly pieces designed to complement nursery interiors and remain meaningful as a child grows. Its collection includes the Custom Baby Portrait, offered at a listed price of $89, reduced from $115. The brand states a turnaround of 7–10 business days, offers free shipping, and backs its work with a satisfaction guarantee.

Fern & First also presents its portraits as gifts for new parents. Gift orders can be beautifully wrapped and include a handwritten note on request.
