FESTevent Grafenau is an event-organising team based in Grafenau, in the Bavarian Forest, dedicated to bringing people together through traditional celebrations. The organisation plans and supports the Grafenauer Volksfest, the historic Säumerfest and Grafenau’s Christmas market, focusing on quality, welcoming service and an atmosphere guests can enjoy.
The Grafenauer Volksfest is led by festwirts Karl Mayer and Matthias Blöchinger. Mayer, a master butcher, contributes products from his own butcher’s shop, while Blöchinger joined the team in 2024 and shares responsibility for the festival from 2025. FESTevent also helps keep local history alive through the Säumerfest, which commemorates the centuries-old salt trade linking Schärding, Grafenau and Bergreichenstein along the Gulden Road. At the Christmas market, the team supports the organisation of a festive gathering for visitors from near and far.
