About Pôle International de la Marionnette
Festival Marionnette, also known as the Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes de Charleville-Mézières, is the largest puppet theater festival in the world since 1961. With its 22nd edition happening from September 16th to 24th, 2023, this festival brings together 87 companies from 25 countries, offering a total of 452 performances. The program features 18 world premieres, 19 French premieres, and 22 FMTM co-productions, exploring themes such as Invisible Presences, (Un)humans, On the Borders of Gender, Storytellers, and Fighters, with a special focus on South Korea.
In addition to the main festival, Festival Marionnette also organizes Temps d'M, which took place from September 14th to 18th, 2022. The association behind the festival offers various services, including workshops, resources, and support for creation in the field.
