MiX Festival is an LGBTQ+ cinema and queer culture festival based in Milan, organised by MiX Milano APS. For more than 40 years, it has brought films and cultural experiences to the LGBTQ+ community and wider audiences. The festival’s four-day programme combines film screenings with music, cinema masterclasses and special events, creating space for shared perspectives, conversation and celebration.
The 40th edition is scheduled for 17–20 September 2026 at Piccolo Teatro Strehler and Casa di Quartiere Garibaldi. Under the theme “What’s Next?”, MiX invites audiences to explore the future of identities, rights, relationships and communities through cinema and collective experiences. Its activities extend beyond the festival programme: visitors can find information about HIV prevention, learn how to volunteer, become members, make donations and subscribe to a newsletter for updates on films and events. MiX also offers membership-related opportunities and promotes partnerships and community engagement. With a focus on queer stories and culture, the festival aims to keep cinema moving beyond the screen and inspire new possibilities.
