Festival Poilant

Festival Poilant is a Belgian charitable comedy festival that brings together French-speaking comedians to support animal welfare. Created in 2021 by Belgian comedian and animal advocate GiZèle, with communication specialist and animal lover Romane, the festival uses humour to raise awareness of abandonment and mistreatment while helping animal associations and shelters. Its performances take place over several days, with the 2025 edition scheduled for 3–5 October at Ferme du Biéreau in Louvain-la-Neuve, a venue with nearby parking and access for people with reduced mobility.

The festival supports organisations through several initiatives, including fundraising performances, the redistribution of show proceeds, collections of food and supplies through partner shops, and public awareness projects such as the illustrated Truf’Book. It also organises the “Coups de like” social media contest and offers animal-themed publications and merchandise, including Truf’Book and Caval’Book. Run with the help of volunteers and partners, Festival Poilant invites audiences to enjoy live comedy while contributing to practical and financial support for animals in need.
