About Festivals Acadiens et Creoles
Festivals Acadiens et Créoles is a cultural festival in Lafayette, Louisiana, celebrating the past and present of French Louisiana and helping sustain Cajun and Creole culture. Established in 1974, the event brings together musicians, artists, tradition-bearers, and visitors for a multi-day experience centered on the region’s cultural heritage. The 2026 festival runs October 8–11 at Girard Park, with hundreds of Cajun and Creole voices featured across six stages and tents.
Music is at the heart of the program, with performances spanning Cajun, zydeco, Creole, and related Louisiana traditions. The lineup includes established acts and artists such as BeauSoleil, Wayne Toups & Friends, the Pine Leaf Boys, and many others. Visitors can also take part in workshops at Scène Atelier, featuring demonstrations, conversations, and presentations by artists and tradition-bearers. A new stage, Scène ’76, developed in partnership with the Smithsonian’s Festival of Festivals initiative, explores connections between South Louisiana music and other Americana traditions. The festival also offers opportunities to plan a stay, reserve space, volunteer, and support its cultural mission.
