About Wiener Festwochen
Wiener Festwochen | Wien is a cross-disciplinary art festival that will take place from May 12th to June 21st, 2023. With a mission to showcase diversity and creativity, the festival offers a wide range of productions in theater, opera, music, dance, performance, and visual arts. Held at 20 different venues in Vienna, including the Parliament and Donaupark, the festival provides a platform for artists to express their talents and engage with audiences.
In 2023, a total of 34 productions were presented, attracting a diverse and enthusiastic audience. Notably, the festival saw a significant increase in young attendees, with more than double the number of people under 30 compared to the previous year. While there were some unavoidable cancellations, such as the sold-out concert by Devonté Hynes and the play Das Kind, the festival's overall success was evident with an 88.
5% attendance rate. Although the festival has ended, visitors can still enjoy the first solo exhibition in Austria by Turner Prize winner Laure Prouvost until October 1st.
