Fête des Plantes

Fête des Plantes, presented as Les Jardins de l’HippoDrohme, is a Brussels plant and gardening festival held at the Boitsfort Hippodrome. Its annual event brings together gardening, biodiversity, everyday ecology and Belgian craftsmanship in a welcoming setting near the Soignes forest. Designed for visitors of all ages and experience levels, it offers ideas and practical guidance for growing plants in gardens, on balconies and on terraces.

The festival features a curated selection of specialist exhibitors, including nurserymen, plant producers, seed merchants, artisans and experts in soil and permaculture. Its programme combines educational and hands-on activities with opportunities to enjoy nature and meet local specialists. Visitors can take part in guided nature walks, practical workshops, children’s activities and participatory apple pressing. The event also works with local non-profits, public environmental organisations and partner municipalities to make ecological learning accessible. With free entry and a focus on sharing and discovery, Fête des Plantes connects city residents with sustainable gardening and nature through products, expertise and activities.
