The Fédération Française de Spéléologie (FFS) is France’s national federation for speleology, canyoning and cave diving. It brings together more than 300 affiliated clubs across the country, helping people discover these activities, find local opportunities and take part in exploration. Through its French schools of speleology, canyoning and underground diving, the FFS offers pathways to practise and develop skills, as well as training for participants and instructors. Its youth programmes include introductory and advanced courses, camps and short stays.

The federation also supports safe and responsible practice through technical and safety guidance, equipment information, accident resources and training in first aid for isolated environments.
