The Research Data Center of the Research Institute Social Cohesion (FDZ-FGZ) is a central unit of the institute, based at the University of Bremen. It develops and maintains data infrastructure to support research on social cohesion, polarization and local dynamics across Germany. Its work includes producing and managing data, coordinating the German Social Cohesion Panel, advising institute research projects on data collection, and archiving quantitative FGZ data. In cooperation with Qualiservice, it also supports the archiving of qualitative research data.

The center makes research resources accessible through its data portal, which documents datasets in a metadata database and provides access to quantitative data for scientific use. Its offerings include the German Social Cohesion Panel and the RISC Regional Panel, alongside regional data and documentation. The FDZ-FGZ also develops indicators to monitor social cohesion, conducts data analysis, and publishes regular reports. Researchers and other users can explore interactive indicators and tools, while FGZdatalit documents scientific publications based on FGZ data.
