About FIA PNG
The Fishing Industry Association (PNG) Inc. Established in 1991 under the PNG Associations Incorporations Act 1966, the FIA-PNG aims to provide a united voice for the Fishing and Associated Industries in Papua New Guinea. With a vision to drive domestic fisheries industrialization and maximize long-term economic benefits from sustainable fishery resources, the FIA-PNG is dedicated to promoting and facilitating the fishing industry both nationally and internationally.
They actively engage with the National Fisheries Authority, the responsible Minister, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and negotiation. The association's diverse membership comprises companies and operators in the tuna industry, including fishing and shore-based processors, prawn operators, beche-de-mer buyers and exporters, as well as associated industries such as crew recruitment agencies, fisheries consultancies, and artisanal fishing cooperatives. Located in the National Capital District of Papua New Guinea, the Fishing Industry Association is committed to delivering sustainable practices and economic prosperity for its members in the fishing and associated industries
