About FIA Region I
FIA Region I is a prominent consumer body located in Brussels, Belgium. With a network of 101 Mobility Clubs spanning Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, they represent over 40 million members. As part of the esteemed Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) founded in 1904, FIA Region I plays a vital role as the governing body for world motor sport.
The primary objectives of the FIA Region I office are threefold. Firstly, they aim to provide robust representation of European Member Club interests to the institutions of the European Union, focusing on important areas such as road safety, consumer protection, and environmental sustainability. Secondly, FIA Region I actively promotes knowledge sharing and collaboration among their Member Clubs across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
Lastly, they engage in impactful campaign activities, such as the influential FIA Action for Road Safety campaign, in conjunction with Automobile Clubs in the region. FIA Region I also comprises several bodies, including the FIA Eurocouncil, which monitors the work of EU institutions, and sub-regions ACTA (African Council of Touring and Automobile Clubs) and ACTAC (Arab Council of Touring and Automobile Clubs), which focus on enhancing services and shaping the future of motoring in their respective regions.
