About Ficusperudsa
Ficus is an independent non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to promoting socio-environmental development in cities and territories. With a focus on vulnerable groups, Ficus conducts research and implements projects to increase sustainability and well-being. Over the past 8 years, Ficus has completed numerous projects and currently has ongoing initiatives.
This NGO was founded by young Peruvian women with a mission to encourage public policies that address environmental and social issues in communities, particularly those in underprivileged regions. Starting as a composting project in a local school, Ficus expanded its efforts to nearby settlements, and eventually became an NGO in 2016. Their work now extends to waste management, urban forests, water and sanitation, environmental education, and urban mobility.
