About The Fields Institute
The Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences is a leading center for mathematical research and education, based on the St. George Campus of the University of Toronto since 1995. Founded in 1992, the institute is dedicated to fostering collaboration and innovation in mathematics, making it accessible to diverse audiences.
With a mission to create an inclusive environment where mathematicians can thrive, the Fields Institute engages in a wide range of activities, including thematic and focus programs, workshops, conferences, and outreach initiatives aimed at promoting mathematics in society. Notable programs include the Commercial and Industrial Mathematics program, which bridges the gap between academia and business, and the Mathematics Education Forum, which addresses education at all levels.
