Fietsende Fysio

Fietsende Fysio is Michelle Fransen’s home-based physiotherapy practice for older adults in Schiedam and Vlaardingen. A registered geriatric physiotherapist, Michelle visits clients by bicycle and provides personal care in the familiar surroundings of their own homes. Her aim is to help people maintain independence and enjoy living at home for as long as possible. Treatment is tailored to each person’s needs and goals, with practical exercises for everyday activities such as walking, climbing stairs, getting up from a chair, and moving safely around the home or outdoors. Family members can also be involved in the process.

Alongside individual home visits, Fietsende Fysio offers group exercise classes for seniors, including Seniorenfit, with strength, fitness, and balance activities. Michelle also provides fall-prevention training and presentations for older adults, caregivers, volunteers, and healthcare professionals. At a doctor’s request, she can conduct a fall assessment covering fall history, walking patterns, muscle strength, and balance. Home treatment requires a referral, and fees may be partly or fully covered depending on the client’s health insurance.
