About Fighterworld
Fighter World is a brand dedicated to preserving the rich history of fighter aircraft operations in the Royal Australian Air Force. Located just a 20-minute drive north of Newcastle, adjacent to the entrance of RAAF Base Williamtown at Newcastle Airport, Fighter World offers a hands-on experience like no other. With two hangars filled with iconic aircraft such as the Mirage III, Avon Sabre, Gloster Meteor, and F-111C, visitors have the unique opportunity to walk around, touch, and even look into the cockpits of these legendary planes.
Other notable exhibits include World War 1 and 2 replicas, a PC-9A(F) Foward Air Control aircraft, and a Macchi jet trainer for an immersive experience. The Observation Deck offers a front-row seat to witness RAAF's premier fighter squadrons taking off and landing, complete with a live audio feed from the Williamtown Control Tower. Fighter World also features interactive screens, the Norm Forrester Collection of model aircraft, a cafe, and a shop offering a range of books, souvenirs, and models.
