About Fighting Blindness
Fighting Blindness is a patient-led charity based in Ireland on a mission to cure blindness, provide support for individuals living with sight loss, and empower patients. They firmly believe in the potential for reversing sight loss and are dedicated to achieving this goal. Offering a range of services, they provide support for those experiencing sight loss, such as their Insight Counselling Service, which offers free and confidential phone counseling to individuals and their families.
They also organize support groups where people with visual impairments and their spouses/partners can connect and share their experiences. The charity actively promotes advocacy, encouraging individuals to engage, set the agenda, and influence change. Additionally, Fighting Blindness conducts innovative research and regularly shares updates and news on the latest breakthroughs.
Public support is essential, both through donations to fund research and by becoming a member to strengthen their collective voice. Together, they are working towards a future where blindness can be overcome
