Filearium

Filearium is a spatial file workspace designed for Android XR, built to make local directories easier to explore and understand in three dimensions. Rather than confining files to a conventional floating screen, it keeps folders, previews, media, and code visible together in a physical workspace. Its column-based layout shows the path from a root folder to a subfolder and selected file, helping users retain their sense of context as they browse.

Filearium is positioned as more than a file manager: it is a read-only XR file viewer and workspace for understanding the relationships between files and their surrounding structure. The project’s roadmap describes a progression from a universal spatial desk toward AI-guided visual comprehension. Current materials also outline an early prototype featuring a folder rail, preview stack, and focus card.

Filearium emphasizes local-first access and spatial comprehension, addressing the loss of folder and architectural context that can occur when moving between files in standard apps. Its website provides project information, a roadmap, and contact details
