Dansk Filosofisk Selskab (DFS) is a Danish philosophical society founded in Copenhagen in 1999 to strengthen cooperation among philosophy communities in higher education and research. It also connects Danish philosophers with international philosophy and provides a national forum for university researchers, students, secondary-school teachers, and others interested in the field. The society promotes international links through membership in international philosophical organizations, invitations to overseas keynote speakers, and international publications.
A central activity is organizing an annual philosophy meeting, held in early March and hosted in turn by different philosophical institutions. Each event features a main theme, invited international speakers, and parallel sessions covering a range of topics. DFS also owns and supports two publications: the Danish Yearbook of Philosophy and Filosofiske Anmeldelser. Its online resources include a national philosophy calendar, a portal, and a book list, alongside reviews and calls for papers. The society publishes a newsletter six times a year and offers membership. Its website shares information about events, publications, awards, governance, and opportunities for members to participate.
