Find a McKenzie Friend

McKenzie Friend is a court-support platform helping people across England and Wales find practical, affordable assistance for family and civil cases. Its directory lets users search by location, case type and experience, compare profiles, reviews and services, and contact professionals to discuss their needs. The platform supports litigants in person with guidance on choosing a McKenzie Friend and understanding the court process.

Listed support may include moral and emotional encouragement, help preparing and organising documents and evidence, note-taking, tracking important dates, and quiet assistance during hearings. A McKenzie Friend does not usually speak for a client in court; permission from the judge is needed for this in some circumstances. Users can explore fees and services before deciding whom to contact.

The organisation also offers free initial consultations, fixed-price services, family mediation referrals, notary services, online and fast-track training for aspiring McKenzie Friends, and educational resources. Its articles, webinars, courses and community groups cover topics such as family law, child arrangements, domestic abuse, divorce, court preparation and civil cases.
