About AaveAave
Finding Shelter Animal Rescue is a volunteer-supported, no-kill nonprofit organization serving dogs and cats in need. Operating since January 1, 2010, the Pennsylvania-based rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to saving, rehabilitating, training, and finding permanent homes for animals. Its work is inspired by Sprout, a tiny, blind Chihuahua whose memory continues to motivate the organization’s mission.
Finding Shelter offers animals for adoption and takes an individual approach to matching each pet with a suitable family. Before animals enter its care, the team gathers available information about their backgrounds and shares known health, physical, and behavioral needs with prospective adopters. Animals live in foster homes, where caregivers observe how they interact with people and other animals and provide insights into the home environments that may suit them best.
The organization also provides training for its adoptable dogs through an in-house certified professional trainer. Adopters receive free, lifetime phone consultations for support. People can help Finding Shelter’s work by adopting, volunteering, donating, or joining its mailing list.
