FinMark Trust is an independent non-profit trust committed to improving financial markets for the poor through the promotion of financial inclusion and regional financial integration. Our core objective is to make financial markets work for underserved populations by providing in-depth insights through the collection and analysis of demand-side data on financial services. Through this data-driven approach, we aim to overcome barriers in the financial sector and foster economic inclusion.

At FinMark Trust, we offer two principal programs. The first program focuses on gathering and analyzing data to gain a comprehensive understanding of both served and unserved consumers in developing countries. The second program works towards enhancing financial sector inclusion and deepening by addressing regulatory and market-level barriers that hinder the effective provision of financial services.

Our work is not limited to a single region as FinMark Trust supports a global agenda. However, our primary focus is on the programmatic work within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. By collaborating with key stakeholders such as central banks, ministries, and national statistics officers at both regional and country levels, we ensure impactful and inclusive financial market development.
