Finnish Vanguard

Finnish Vanguard ry is a Finnish support association that brings together Viking fighters from across Finland to take part in international events. Its purpose is to promote cultural cooperation and interaction between Finland and other countries through Viking fighting and reenactment. Rather than operating as a separate fighting group, Finnish Vanguard is open to members of any Finnish group who want to participate in events abroad together.

The association supports members in preparing for partner and international events. When an event’s battle organization requires it, Finnish Vanguard assesses participants’ skills and knowledge. To help members meet relevant expectations, the association aims to organize training sessions and practice days throughout the year, including opportunities to work with international rules and weapon regulations.

Finnish Vanguard also seeks to apply for grants and build partnerships that can help support members’ travel to foreign events. Through training, skill validation, and collaborative funding efforts, the association helps Finnish Viking fighters prepare for international participation and connect with reenactment communities beyond Finland.
