Finnsnes Svømmeklubb is a volunteer-run swimming club based in Finnsnes, serving children, young people and adults from across Senja and nearby areas. The club offers swimming activities for a range of abilities, with an emphasis on safety, confidence, skill development and enjoyment in the water. Its programmes take place at the swimming pool at Finnsnes ungdomsskole.

The swimming school welcomes children from age four and follows the Norwegian Swimming Federation’s teaching model. Lessons develop foundational skills such as diving, floating, gliding and propulsion through a structured learning pathway. For adults who are new to swimming or feel uneasy in the water, the club provides instruction that progresses from becoming comfortable in the water to learning basic swimming techniques.

Swimmers seeking more structured training can join the competition programme, which includes A, B and C groups. The club participates in local and regional meets, supporting swimmers’ development, training enjoyment and sense of community.
