Founded in October 2017, AFSI functions as a congregation of startups, institutions, academics, communities, and experts in Shariah-based financial services. Recognized by the Government of Indonesia as a legal entity through a Minister of Law and Human Rights Decree, AFSI plays a crucial role in accelerating the development of Shariah-based economy through financial technology innovation.

The mission of AFSI is to increase financial inclusion through Shariah fintech in Indonesia, provide support to the government and academic institutions in advancing fintech in the country, and promote awareness and education about Shariah finance. AFSI also strives to foster synergy with Shariah economic institutions and international financial technology organizations to unlock the potential of Shariah fintech.

Backed by a strong organizational structure consisting of advisors, Shariah scholars, supervisors, and executive leaders, AFSI is committed to making a positive impact on society by establishing a fair and just economic system.
