VR Group is the undisputed global leader in glass windows for front-load household laundry appliances, serving all major white goods OEMs worldwide. VR Group was established near Verona, Italy, in 1968, with the name of Vetrerie Riunite S.p.A., initially manufacturing pressed glass for the lightning, pharmaceutical and perfumery sectors. In the following years, Vetrerie Riunite started the development and production of glass windows for washing/drying machines, becoming by the end of the 90s the market leader of the sector. In 1981, Vetrerie Riunite purchased Borromini s.r.l., a company specialized in the design and production of moulds for pressed glass and for plastic injection, especially for the automotive lighting sector. In 1987 Vetrerie Riunite founded Novaref S.p.A., a company specialized in the production of refractory rollers for the ceramic and automotive industries; Novaref was sold and, since January 2024, it is no longer part of VR Group. In 2018, Vetrerie Riunite established a commercial subsidiary in Mainland China, called Verona Industries. In 2021, Vetrerie Riunite acquired 70% of the capital of the Chinese company Suizhong Minghui Industrial Technology Ltd., the Chinese leader in glass windows for front-load household laundry appliances, leading to the birth of VR Group.
