Fiona Wright

Fiona Wright is a Sydney-based writer, editor and critic whose work spans essays, poetry and fiction. She has published collections of essays and poetry, as well as a novel, and brings more than fifteen years of experience in writing and editing. Her background includes five years as an editor at Giramondo Publishing and a PhD in Literature and Creative Writing from Western Sydney University.

Alongside her writing, Wright teaches and supports emerging writers. She tutors in creative writing, journalism and literature at Western Sydney University, and has taught creative non-fiction at UTS and the University of Sydney. She also leads writing workshops in high schools, libraries and for writers’ centres, and regularly presents her work at literary events and festivals.

Through her mentoring services, Wright shares practical expertise with new and emerging writers. She is particularly interested in supporting women from Western Sydney and people living with mental health conditions or chronic illness. She also offers manuscript assessment and editorial feedback, with enquiries welcomed through her website’s contact form.
