FIPE AG provides an alternative to traditional pipe-connection technologies through its FIPE system, designed to connect pipes efficiently without welding. The system supports working pressures of up to 140 bar for pipe diameters up to 88.9 mm, or 3 inches. According to the company, a connection can be completed in minutes, avoiding time-consuming preparation, hot work and post-installation inspections.
FIPE’s plug-and-play equipment is stored in two portable bags, making it easy to carry to different job sites. Operators start the process with a remote control, while the tools perform the connection. FIPE says it checks each connection for leak-proof quality. The system has been used in Singapore Power’s cross-island transmission cable tunnel project, where 37 kilometres of 3-inch pipes were installed using FIPE.
