About FIPP
The Family, Infant and Preschool Program (FIPP) is a North Carolina program that has supported families of young children in the western part of the state since 1972. It serves children with and without disabilities, offering early intervention and developmental services for children from birth to age five. In partnership with families, FIPP helps children learn and develop through everyday routines at home and in the community.
The program serves Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, and McDowell counties. While FIPP does not provide childcare, it can offer special services to a child’s childcare program. Families can also contact the team for guidance about developmental concerns, parenting support, and available service options.
Eligible families may use Medicaid or private insurance, and a sliding fee scale is available based on household income and family size; inability to pay does not prevent access to services. FIPP also supports early childhood professionals through professional development, training, research, certifications, and practical resources
